First-Hour Advice

What To Do Before We Arrive

1. Keep everyone clear

Rope off at least one-and-a-half tree lengths. Hanging branches (widow-makers) can drop without warning.

2. Don’t cut tensioned wood

Storm timber stores huge energy. A wrong cut with a home chainsaw is how most storm injuries happen.

3. Photograph everything

Wide shots plus close-ups of damage to the house, fence and car. Insurers love timestamps — we add ours too.

Make-safe attendance is a fixed callout plus hourly rate, quoted before we start. Most insurers reimburse storm make-safe work — we provide itemised reports.

We stabilise from the ground in severe weather and climb once gusts drop. No tree is worth a crew injury — we’ll tell you honestly when waiting is safer.
