Arborist cutting storm timber with a chainsaw

Most tree jobs fall somewhere on a spectrum: routine pruning at one end, midnight emergency at the other. Knowing where your situation sits saves money — and sometimes prevents disaster. Here’s how our crew triages every call.

Routine: the planned prune

Deadwood, clearance from the roof, shaping after summer growth — this is calendar work. Book it weeks ahead, bundle neighbours’ jobs on the same street, and you’ll get the best price and the tidiest result. Late winter is the sweet spot for most species.

Urgent: the watch-and-act list

A cracked limb over the driveway, a fungal bracket at the base, roots lifting the path — none of these need a midnight callout, but all deserve a visit within a fortnight. This is where a free assessment earns its keep: half our urgent callouts end with monitoring advice, not a chainsaw.

Emergency: the first hour

Tree on the house, across the driveway or tangled in wires — call immediately, keep everyone at least one-and-a-half tree lengths clear, and photograph the damage for your insurer. Never cut storm-loaded timber yourself: bent trunks store enough energy to throw a saw back at the operator.

What a good response looks like

A professional emergency crew stabilises first (ropes, props, crane support), removes in controlled sections, documents everything for insurance, and leaves the site raked and washed. If someone offers to “just drop it” next to your bedroom wall at midnight — decline politely.

Our line is answered 24/7 by an arborist: +61 2 9555 0134. For non-urgent work, the quote form gets a reply within one business day.
